How to become Electro-Technical Officer in Merchant Ships?
Overview:
Our aim is to guide the students who recently completed 10+2 or Diploma course or Degree Courses. There are lots of opportunity available in other sectors but due to lack of knowledge most of the students bound to take inappropriate decision. Despite of completing their degree most candidate are unable to get job in their respective sectors because of too many crowd.
There is one kind of opportunity to become Eletro-Technical Officers in Merchant Ships. To become ETO candidate has to do a course approved by Directorate General of Shipping, (Ministry of Shipping, Government of India) of 4 Months.
Job Role of ETO:
An ETO is responsible for all type of electronic instruments and electronic communication on vessel. In addition to he also looks after electronic navigation aid such as measuring device, long range navigation equipment and global positioning system etc.
Remuneration:
Merchant Ships are the highest salary paid industry world wide with lots of benefits like free food & accommodation, free medial facility, free air ticket etc. Salary depend on the experience and type of vessel and may vary $ 500/- to $1500/- (Depends on experience).
Course Name:
Pre Sea Training for Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) on Merchant Ships.
(For certification as ETO, 6 month on board training is required.)
Eligibility Criteria:
The following are the criteria to join course of Electro-Technical Ofiicer.
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 from Central board or State board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with minimum 50% marks in English Language at 10th or 12th examination.
- Candidates who have completed 3 year diploma courses in Electrical Engineering , Electronic Engineering , Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunication or communication Engineering or Electronic and Instrumentation Engineering or Equivalent with minimum 60% marks are eligible to ETO course.
- Candidates who have completed 4 year degree courses including lateral entry in Electrical Engineering , Electronic Engineering , Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunication or communication Engineering or Electronic and Instrumentation Engineering or Equivalent with minimum 50% marks are eligible to ETO course.
- The Diploma and Degree Courses must have been recognize by Central or State Government and approved by AICTE.
- The candidates who were taken admission on the basis of matriculation only and then they are perusing BE/B.Tech degree courses as a lateral entry in the 2nd year of degree on the basis of Diploma in the discipline mention above are also permitted in ETO course.
- Maximum Age limit for ETO course is 35 Years.
